in Google Analytics,Web Analytics

I came across a Web Analytics  report 2009 by  cmswatch. They reveled in their that  Yahoo analytics will leap ahead of  Google Analytics in some key areas. i.e

  • Better access control options and simpler approach to multi-site analytics
  • Larger default monthly page-view limits (200MM vs. 5MM – unless you have an active AdWords campaign)
  • Access to traffic data: Both vendors retain the right to hold and use your web analytics data for their own purposes, but only Yahoo! gives you the ability to export out your raw, unaggregated data
  • Longer historical availability of raw data.

As of Google analytics is  made brand  among web analytics tools. Google made changes over time to in analytics such as advanced segments, customs reporting and now tracking of phone calls..

Yahoo acquired Indextools 10 months back, still it’s in beta version.. but industry folks will waiting eagerly for this tool also.. It will take long time for yahoo to became brand in analytics industry as Google Analytics..

There are some other web analytics vendores  also included in web analytics report 2009 by cmswatch.

Hey,

No, I am not completely agree with you on this topic. Ye, its true that, Yahoo provides more control & sophisticated approach to the data but at the same time its a paid service.

No one can replace Google in that case, as its Free and yet give enough insightful data to make sense. Beside this, Google is continuously upgrading its interface.

So, I don’t think anyone can replace google on that ground. As far as yahoo is concerned, its not a big deal to provide all these control in the paid tool and there are still big players in the industry like Omniture to compete. The field is expanding day by day.

I hope Yahoo caould also start the free web analytics service like Google then surely, its market share might get increased. :)

Mike is spamming on Wordpress.com :P

On the topic of Y!WA, its a matter of how many companies CAN actually switch to Y!WA – it’s limited in access for a reason.

In other words, it will NOT become another Google Analytics so the comparison is flawed to boot.

Cheers,

Julien

@Amish, @Julien – i do agree with google analytics is leader, which providing free services. still It’ll less ratio who switch their analytics profiles. thing is that some time new player also take initiative to do revolution in industry.

so Let Yahoo analytics to decide there marketing strategy for gaining market share among web analytics vendors.

I think that the ability to export data is one of the strongest features of the new Yahoo analytics. That, to me, was one of the scariest things about using Google Analytics is that all of one’s data is totally and irrevocably stuck in Google’s world.

Imagine if Google did the same thing as Microsoft did with DeepMetrix, and EOL’ed the product. That’d be pretty awesome. (!) So, very soothing to think that one could extract the data and then potentially use it with Webtrends or another tool.
